CozytopDesktop companion

A cozy corner of your desktop.

Cozytop is a lightweight, always-on-top companion. One small floating button opens 38 tiny modules — mini-games, quiet tools, desktop pets, and idle toys — each living in its own little window above your work.

Pong
Aquarium
Pomodoro Timer

This little desktop is the product. Click the floating button to open the hub, launch modules, drag the windows around. ESC closes the focused one — just like the real thing.

The loop

How it works

  1. It waits quietly

A small launcher button floats on your desktop — always on top, out of the way. When nothing is open, only the launcher is running.

  2. Open what you feel like

Click the launcher, pick a module, and it opens in its own independent transparent window that stays above your work.

  3. ESC closes it

One key closes the focused module. No menus to unwind, no ceremony. Open another whenever the mood strikes.

  4. Right-click to favorite

Right-click a hub card and it stays close at the top of your hub, one click from wherever you left it.

The shelf

38 modules, four shelves

Every module is a whole little app in its own always-on-top window. These are all of them.

The economy

When the room gets dark, Glow keeps things warm

In the native macOS build, a small economy stitches the modules together — what happens in one window washes into another.

Fish caught in Cornerpond swim into the Aquarium.

Finished pomodoro sessions feed the cat.

Streaks

Come back tomorrow and the fire is still going. Miss a day and it softly resets — no guilt, just warmth while it lasts.

Levels & achievements

Playing anything nudges the same small progression. Levels rise, achievements pop for the oddest little milestones.

The Glow Shop

Glow earned across modules spends on new treats — a place to put the proceeds of a good week of tiny windows.

The craft

Drawn by code, not shipped as assets

Every module's art is drawn procedurally at runtime. Every sound is synthesized as it plays. The windows feel drawn — because they are, fresh, every time.

Engine
Godot 4.6, GL Compatibility renderer for per-pixel transparency
Native build
A parallel Swift/SpriteKit app for macOS with the full Glow economy
Art
Every module's art drawn procedurally at runtime — no texture assets
Audio
Every sound synthesized as it plays — no audio files
Idle footprint
Only the launcher window is active when no modules are open

The point

Low friction, low resource usage, high delight.

Cozytop is inspired by NotchBasket, NotchGolf, Ropuka's Idle Island, and the classic desktop toys that made a computer feel like yours. It's being built by one person, and it's moving to cozytop.xyz.
